Name:
Uemura Sho (Last | First)
Nickname(s): Any royal titles can win his favour
Gender: Male
Age: 17

Nationality: Japanese
Height: 169cm | 5'6.5
Weight: 65kg | 143lbs

School and year: Akazaka Danshi Gakuen | Third Year
Position and number: Libero | (TBA)

Strengths: Impeccable accuracy at detecting the destination of the ball. His arrogance over pinpointing the exact location it will land is something to be taken seriously as he watches the ball with unwavering determination and, if in his reach, will receive it with a fairly precise and commendable save.

Always fast paced and flexible. With speed and bendable joints, Sho is capable of reaching the ball from irregular angles and unexpected positions. But his receives, when reliant on his unorthodox movements, result in a hard ball to return.

Encouraging and reliable. He may not be a conversationalist on the court, solely focusing on his abilities and limits, but when his team is losing he's the type to slap you on the back and remind you that there's always a silver lining and now is not the time to give up while making sure to step up his game, just for the stability of his team mates. Of course at times, this is dreadfully hypocritical and he never practises what he preaches but at least his heart is in the right place.

Weaknesses: Incapable of proper communication. When he has analysed that he cannot possibly receive a play, Sho won't turn his head to a player in a desperate attempt for assistance. He'll ignore the ball and his team members on the court. His assumption is that everyone around him is capable of calculating the extent of his strengths but this usually results in a point for the other team, considering his position solely focuses on defense.

Half-hearted enthusiasm. The moment he has concluded the ball is almost definitely out of his reach he'll immediately give up and leave it for dead. He holds no real passion for 'trying with all you've got', suggesting it's 'bewildering' that some players can dedicate themselves to a possible injury for a ball they're almost certain to miss.

Uncontrollable temperament. His moods fluctuate and his performance works in accordance. Sho, when excited will recklessly waste his energy and is more prone to injury. In comparison, when he's blue, he will hold next to no strength behind his receives and is more likely to miss balls that he would normally be able to save. He works best in a cool, steady disposition where he immerses himself in the game and blocks out all external stimuli.

Personality:

The easiest way to measure Sho's confidence is to compare it to the size of an elephant, his enthusiasm to praise himself outweighs his desire to finish his final year of high school successfully. His narcissism borders dangerous but can be beaten down in a matter of seconds if you were to choose someone else over him as his jealousy over those he treasures is something he hides extensively but nonetheless exists. Possessive in nature, the young man won't hesitate to observe those he appreciates from a distance. The soul reason as to why he may observe someone he cherishes, aside from his requirement for attention, is his necessity to know they're safe. His doting, paternal instinct overcomes his blatant arrogance and before you can say 'Sho no' he'll have adjusted himself into a self-sacrificing knight in shining armour. Or perhaps the that title is a little too elegant for him as his belligerent desire to start fights over spilt milk removes any sense of justification when he decides to floor that one guy laughing at his sister's shoes. But despite this he's still a teenager and holds a vast amount of affection towards those he's close to and will protect them with a sturdy fist and a steady heart, even if he's prone to mischievousness and tying their shoelaces together when they're not watching.

Biography:

Sho is the eldest child of four from two happy, healthy and wealthy parents. The adoration showered upon their children, albeit limited, was the truest form of affection two adults could give. Nonetheless, being the oldest, Sho spent the first four years of his life relatively lonely aside from the leave his mother had taken from work to care for him, because his parents were successful and their presence was a requirement at their respective occupations. Baby sitters were hired but none of them necessarily grew very close to the young boy who ran into his parents' arms at the end of each day.

So when the time came for his younger brother to enter their lives, Sho being at the age of four, took up the responsibility of the older sibling with open arms. Enchanted by the idea of having company closer to his age that he'd be able to converse with in a few years, Sho grew to love his younger brother extensively. Before he knew it, two other siblings had joined the ranks and he loved all of them unconditionally, turning into the paternal figure of the family and taking care of the basics for his busy parents.

But being the eldest still left a large toll on Sho and despite him remaining content with the position, he needed an exhort for the constant bickering he endured with his life at home. So he tested the water with sports and before he knew it, he'd submerged himself into the ocean called volleyball in his second year of middle school. Loving the activity, he begun dedicating his time towards it and was certain he would soar, much like his name suggested, above the net and spike each attack aimed against his team and annihilate those who opposed him. He eagerly anticipated his growth spurt but as his time in school waned he realised that that burst of height wasn't appearing.

It was disheartening to say in the least, a short volley baller who could barely jump was out of the question and as he prepared to resign after the first few weeks of high school he was recommended to try the position of the libero. At first he was against it, being left to the back wasn't flashy, it wasn't him but with due time and his passion for the sport preceding over his desire to shine in mid-air battles, he conformed to it and ended up loving it. His competitive nature was sated through the sport and his team, despite being a little malicious, was amusing to keep up with. Rising to his third and final year of high school, he plans on being as supportive as he possibly can and push his team to victory so he can leave with his head held high and his arms finally raised towards the air.

Additional Information:

- He also dislikes his name as ironically, Sho can translate to 'to fly, to soar' but his jumping abilities are mediocre at best which is why he's 'stuck' being a libero.
- Bleaches the top layer of his hair so often that no one would blame you for calling him narcissistic.
- Has a lot of pride over his well toned form and will not hesitate to engage in a fist fight if challenged.
- He will never love hares to the extent he loves rabbits.
- Has a pet rabbit called Bonbon
- Despises dirty environments and will clean up anything around him subconsciously.
- Plays the viola and piano.
